Chappelle Excursions is excited to announce it's 1st Annual Adventure Camp this summer for children ages 7-12!
Camps will be held Monday - Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm during the following weeks:

Cost is $350 per child.
​
Each camp session is limited to a group of up to 4 children.
​
Group (4 campers) rates available. Additional dates may be offered. Contact us for more info.

An Orientation will be held for parents the week before each camp begins on Monday at 6:30 pm.
​
Campers will get to experience the great outdoors in a fun and exciting way with hands-on learning and instruction from Captain John Michael Chappelle. Captain John Michael is a Licensed USCG Boat Captain and experienced Boat Tour Guide. He designed this camp to provide an introductory education of our local marine ecosystem and how to live safely by the water while offering a fun and memorable experience on Weeks Bay. Each day will begin with a devotional from "God is in Nature" and contain a variety of fun and educational activities.

Day 1 - Water Safety Day
Begin with the importance of water safety
Test each child's swimming capabilities
Learn how to properly wear a life vest
Paddleboard near the shore in Weeks Bay
Discuss the importance of always being aware of our surroundings in the water

Day 2 - Scavenger Hunt Day
Boat ride on our 24' Sea Hunt bay boat around Weeks Bay, Fish River, and Magnolia River
Each child will have a checklist of various birds, plants, and marine life we may encounter and check them off as we see them
​
Day 3 - Sailing Day
Construct a simple sailboat craft model
Learn basic concepts of sailing including wind direction and weather
How to read a compass
Experiment with blocks & tackle
Sail around Weeks Bay on our 17' Hobie Getaway catamaran sailboat

Day 4 - Fishing Day
Learn how a fishing rod and reel work
Practice casting
How to bait a hook
Go fishing on our 24' Sea Hunt bay boat in Weeks Bay, Fish River, or Magnolia River
(Hopefully!) Learn to clean fish afterwards
​
Day 5 - Discuss and review everything we have done this week and give the children the option to choose which activity they liked best and what they would like to do today.
